Crusher Decorticator Unit – Type II
The crusher decorticator unit produces the second quality fibre. Beating principle is used for fibre extraction. In this process, we cannot get bristle fibre and mattress fibre separately; only mixed fibre can be obtained. Based on customers’ production requirements, we design and supply crusher Decorticator units with various production outputs up to 10 tons fibre per 8 hours. Our standard designs are for 3.2 tons fibre output / 8 hours, 5 tons fibre output / 8 hours and 10 tons fibre output / 8 hours.
Important Note: The production capacities are achieved by increasing the size of the machines and power of the motors. The fibre quality deteriorates with the increase in capacity of the machines.
Machine Specifications (for 3.2 tons fibre output / 8 hours):
Crusher:
The crusher is used to crush and punch the husks for easy and quick soaking. The fibres in the husks get softened and straightened to certain extent. Due to this process the hardness of the husks gets reduced and will be easy for further processing.

Squeezer:
The squeezer is used to squeeze the crushed and soaked husks to remove water. Squeezing is done using the principle of crushing. This way, the husks are crushed for the second time, further softening the husks to enhance fibre extraction in the decorticator. In addition, by removing the water, the load on the decorticator will be reduced drastically.

Decorticator combined with Beater:
Decorticator is used to extract fibre from the crushed, soaked and squeezed husks using beating principle. In the decorticator, the extracted fibre is also cleaned to some extent.
NOTE: In some areas, the husks are soaked for months in small ponds, lakes or backwaters to soften them. These soaked husks are then fed directly into the decorticator without crushing and squeezing. In order to reduce the soaking time, crusher is used and to reduce the load on the decorticator, squeezer is used..
Beater is used to thoroughly clean the partially cleaned fibre obtained from the decorticator. Beating principle is used for fibre cleaning.
Combining Decorticator with Beater: Decorticator and Beater are fixed side by side on a single frame and the decorticator outlet is joined with the beater inlet. The two main purposes of combining the two machines is to
1. Reduce the labour involved in transferring the decorticator output to the beater
2. Reduce the time taken for work-in-process transfer
Bottom Cleaning Arrangement:
Pneumatically operated bottom cleaning arrangement is provided at the bottom of both the machines to remove pith, short and baby fibres sticking to the bottom portion of the machines thereby
1. Reducing the load on the motors and hence electric power consumption by more than 50% (determined from trial runs) to reduce frequent stopping of the machine for cleaning to reduce frequent stopping of the machine for cleaning
